Hidden behind your words?

flipthom said 517 days ago:

Well, a true self portrait would show some of the inside as well as the outside...a person is more than a hollow shell....so I used some words for mine. Thanks for the comment.

very creative and informative. tells a lot about you. I like the 'breathe' part. I think we tend to forget that, sometimes.

Interesting self portrait.

what a brilliant take on the reflection self-portrait! this is wonderfully enjoyable and revealing.

Now, that's what i call a self portrait - deluxe edition!

25 points, no doubt. One of those ones I wish i had taken - or, at least thought of taking...

Huge congrats!

I love the green tone and the "breathe" stick-it.

This is Art, is this one from the same series?
or are you the same person?
nice Take!

flipthom said 517 days ago:

I'm guessing probably not, this is my first post ever here. Thanks everyone for all the encouraging words and great inspiration.

Did you try use red light for your photo?

flipthom said 517 days ago:

The only light in the shot was from a 60watt bulb in the bathroom. The walls are painted a light peach/pink color (not my idea by the way) so that probably made the light appear even more orange and red than normal. I adjusted for that while editing the photo.

Everything is allowed. My comment was not made with a nasty spirit. The idea is interesting and made me smile.

flipthom said 517 days ago:

Philippe, I did not think that your comment was made with a nasty spirit. I just thought you wanted an explanantion. I'm glad you got a smile out of it. Thanks.

This is really an interesting take on the theme. I feel I want a tighter crop horizontally but other than that it all works for me.

King said 515 days ago:

"I would ????? if you weren't there?" You may be right about your handwriting.

I like this photograph as a photo, but not so much for this theme. I like it despite the yellow and the blown highlights...I simply consider this to be an "art" photo that isn't about technique. I lke it for the sentiments expressed on the PostIt notes, but I wish the sentiments were more consistent, that is, the motif is one of existential angst, but things like "U2" and "My handwriting sucks" don't reinforce, to me, a sense of introspection.

So this long comment is about what I value in this image, although if you simply saw the ratings I'm giving this shot, you wouldn't put the two together (not bad, though).

Nice idea, nicely done. Great shot.

This is neat. It reminds me of a peice in the Denver Art Museum by Sean Landers....It's a giant canvas all hand written (possibly with a paint brush) reflecting on both mundane and remarkable moments in his life. Unfortunately I really can't find any of his work online that would reflect what I mean... but here is a link to some of his stuff anyway....http://www.takaishiigallery.com/html/artists_profile/a_Sean_Landers.html
