The ring, wet skin, the hair and the stare, all add to the shock value of the photograph. It makes a good impact. But there are lots of empty blank spaces, the relevence of which to the photograph I fail to understand. Also the lighting is a little too harsh. Even if it was intentional, it doesn't add to the portrait.

To answer shashankbjain, this picture was taken in my bathroom, where the light is actually the best for photographs. I agree that if you full face it, it may be a bit too harsh, however I am quite pleased with this one. As other people said, I just wanted it to be bold. The blank spaces are meant to avoid distraction from the subject. Not sure what I could have added in the background.
