Thank you, I am quite pleased you like it.
No, I am not a military person, but I am a Berliner. Whenever I am near the Soviet Memorial (and others like it) I become acutely aware of the sacrifices made by others during the second world war. I am grateful to them, because my life and that of my parents was shaped by every aspect of that war.

Lots of feeling here. I don't recognize the artillery, but it looks too old for you to have fought with it. So I get the feeling you are mourning someone lost to you, or feeling a sense of loss in general.
I would like to see a bit more of your face, though.

Yeah, and as you can imagine, I tried about 40 different ones as well. Not all of them quite as pensive as this one :-)
I do feel strongly though whenever I pass this place.
