Very appealing. I think this would be a better self-portrait if you were to crop it. But instead of having a face floating in the dark, I'd suggest cropping just below the beginning of the highlight on the shoulder. The face carries the day and the weight of the area below that includes the nebulous egg-shaped hightlight doesn't add much.

I love the shadows in this image, the only "negative" comment I'd give is about the blown-out patches on your face. But it's a very strong and honest portrait. One of my favorites for sure!
