It's beautiful. My preference would be to try and bring some color back into the image, and accentuating the fan through saturation, rather than just doing selective color.

No way! I did the Asian fan portrait!! However, I like your treatment of it, with just the fan in color. Nice soft lighting. Great composition. Well done.

I like the idea here my only criticisms would be that there's still a little bit of colour on your nose (above the fan) and I find the curtain in the left background a little distracting, maybe blurring that a little more would help focus the attention?

For me, it is the gesture of the raised eyebrow that makes it. It adds a bit of expression that is interestingly ambiguous and makes me wonder what she is thinking.

I do agree with the others about the eyes needing some selective sharpening and to burn in the curtain which being lighter than the face, draws the eye away from the central focus. I like the B&W and color division and do not find it gimicky. Nice post
