i like the dof! and choice of composition, however i think it's a little contrasty..But this screen sucks so only take that with a grain of salt (i'm at work)I would have loved to have seen it in color

Catastrophic, Thanks! I agree on the contrastiness. So annoying. It didn't look this contrasty until I uploaded it, and I can't change the photo now, or I would have toned it down a bit. As for the colors, I went for sepia because I've been doing an endless string of color flower shots, and I wanted something different. :-)
