the colors are lovely, but it doesn't grab my eye at all, I think if you started at the top and focused there than threw the rest out of focus it might have worked better, for me at least.

That is some sweet selective focus. Only one of those holes cut out of the metal is in focus,and having a bunch of similarobjects to look at let's you see jsut how selectiv the focus is.

While this certainly has use of DOF - I'd call this more a macro of DOF themed shot.

as a point of interest, this is the side of a pacbell payphone.
the holes form the shape of an analog telephone handset, an icon from a passing era.
