I can't put my finger on this but I really like it - even though I find the crop awkward and the colours unnatural - it just kind of works....

I had the same response as you Dicksdaily. When I first shot it I had numerous "issue" with the photo but I found myself stopping to look at it everytime I was in my archive. Never argue with the subconscious. :-)

Well, there's definitely selective focus here. So very relevant to the theme.

However, I am puzzled by the composition. I'm curious why you chose to cut off parts of the "foot", "hand" and "facemask" with the fram, while leaving a empty space around the right side of the shot. This subject is dead-center in the composition anyway, so it would seem like either put space all the way around it, or crop in close and cut off all sides of it.
