Not sure what you may think it is, it is a "Scene From Our Life," in this case indicates the end of it. Something every one of us will have to face eventually. Not a pretty scene, but a very real one.

Blimey, this is a very dark submission. Good post processing. The blacks are really black to this image.
*shiver*

Wow. Very powerful shot. Top marks. A tragedy it is that this is part of daily life for soldiers (and their victims) in so many parts of the world. Where was this shot?
bioLarzen said 434 days ago:
Are you really trying to say it's a pretty ordinary scene of your life?
Well, if you say so, I belive you...
I gave it all fives because it's a photo I like a lot - not what it depicts, of course :)
bioLarzen said 434 days ago:
Sorry, pretorius, but this one is not relevant at all for this theme. The description goes
"show what each one of us sees on a given day as we go about our daily lives. "
So, what you imagine the end of your live looks like does not come here - we already had a theme "The End" - it would have fitted that one perfectly...
So, of course I cannot go back in time and correct my 5 for relevance to 1, althought that's what I would do.

Eventually this will be a scene for all of us.

@pretorious, What I was asking was is this a scene from your everyday life? Do you see dead soldiers as you go about your day to day life? If this is a staged photo then you don't. If this is something you saw at say a protest rally then this would be a valid scene from your life.
pretorious said 434 days ago:
bioLarzen, you state most definite and forceful that "this one is not relevant at all for this theme." That is your opinion and your right. However, I would think you would work on gathering more facts before making such a definite statement and judgment on someone, for all you know I could be a mortician or doctor seeing and doing this type of work everyday of my life, which in fact would make it fit this theme pretty well wouldn't you say? So what you're referring to as me imagining what the end of my life may look like and whether or not it should come here seems more irrelevant than my image itself. Indeed it is not "what I imagine the end of my live looking like," but something that I believe fits the theme, is and everyday scene of my life and is a definite turn in life that every single one of us will face eventually, including you! It's a natural turn in life that will eventually be a scene for us all!
Hummingbird, the fact is, I do see such scenes everyday of my life. While in reality I am not a mortician or doctor I have a very close friend that is a mortician and visit him each day at work, while I would like to think of myself as being enough of a man not to impose my photography adventures onto the dead but rather hold a much higher respect for them this image wasn't shot in my friends work place, tho he did give me permission to do so.
Thanks for the comments everyone, I hope this makes this dreadful image a little more understandable. :)

I am not entirely sure I understand your last post...are we to understand that while you could have shot the feet of corpses, at a morgue you visit often, this is in fact a staged shot of someone who is not dead?
pretorious said 434 days ago:
You are correct CraigMartin, the opportunity to actually shoot the feet of corpses is there for me if I want it, but I couldn't bring myself to use them that way for my photography adventures, thus we staged the shot with a live person instead so I could enter it for this theme.
dcreighton said 433 days ago:
Morbid for this theme but one image that makes me want to know the story so that isn't bad at all IMO.
Lange said 433 days ago:
Hmm. As a scene from your life, you must be a health care professional, a law enforcement officer, or a person in the military. Challenging careers, dramatic image. The detail is quite good. I presume the dogtag and the papers are blurred to maintain privacy. Good overall image.
xandros said 433 days ago:
People very often have different kinds of problems and reactions when faced with something that is morbid but totally inevitable....

a very strong submission indeed...
