I really like this picture, for a blurry black and white you captured some pretty good detail in the passengers on the bus. The light streaks are also very nice. My only criticism is the light area behind the trees. I think if it was cloned out (if you are into that sort of thing) or a tighter and/or unusually long crop would give the image more impact. I guess one down side to this is that you never get to know the exif data for pictures...

I like the image. Unfortunately the upper portion of the photo I find distracting. It is as there was a bit too much lightening of the dark tones of the sky and trees for sepeeration. It looks a bit flarey, and doesn't match the crispness of the foreground.

I might try cropping it down somewhat above the bus - sometimes that short and wide formate looks great.

Otherwise - fabulous image.

i dig it, and think the current framing works well..cropping would alter the composition a little too much i think. I'd love to see a big fat print of it, where you can make out the detail of the people in the bus...could have captured a really cool moment there.

Interesting comments. Looks terrific on my screen. I love the speckly illuminated trees just behind the bus, and the ghostly hue above those in the background.

I think I sort of agree with the sky comments, but I'd love to see this as a print. Moreso than any other image I've seen here yet.

Thanks for the comments - thought I'd give a little background to this image and the next.

This is a digital shot taken on a D70 and has already been cropped slightly due to some unwanted areas to the left. It was originally in colour (naturally) and has been converted to B&W via channels in PS.

Pholland - yeh - the bus had stopped although I have one of it moving off! The streaks you see (I think) were a bike or something and the others caused by the cars pulling up behind the bus.

There seems debate about the sky - and acutally I did dodge it in a bit! I thought it added a kind of spooky look as George mentioned.

I'd love to do a nice big print - but as always with digital - I don't think it has the resolution to give a really nice crisp output.

For any londoners who are interested - the shot was taken up at Pond on Heath Road on Hampstead Heath - a great place for night photography!
