I am finding that the shots that are all very similar to this, are good shots, but after seeing so many of the same shot, the impact goes down. is that fair to the 10th person who posted the same shot? I know I would not post a shot like this, after so many have already been posted. Most of the comments for this type of shot are 'this isn't rain, it's water.'
That said, I love the quality of this shot, the tones are great, and the clarity is wonderful.

I have to say I didn't actually see ANY rain in your first image, or wait, was it in the cloud?!
Not to be too argumentative, but your image I've also seen a thousand times, done much better too (although I loved the skyline in yours).
At least I have tried to do something a little innovative, with "water". I think we've seen just how many interpretations of themes we can expect, I have no problem with that, really, just that the task should be defined a little more precisely, so people know where they stand.
When the theme is RAIN, you should actually try and submit a picture of a scene with rain in it.
It really is a pleasure exchanging views with you, thanks for taking the time to pop in.

#39 (a featured shot) is exactly the same kind of shot as mine. A great cloud formation without visible rain.
It was raining where I was taking the picture from, and the whole cloud on the left was producing rain. I realize it wasn't the best shot of rain, but I got a score I'm pleased with. And the theme isn't water, it's rain. Your shot has water drops. I don't see any rain at all.
I disagree with the idea that your shot is 'innovative' because 9 shots of exactly the same type, were previously posted.
And yes, a pleasure as always.

With the intense DoF in this picture, this image is "suggestive" - allowing the viewer to imagine the background while viewing the rain drops. The simplicity of the color scheme is inviting too. Well done IMHO.
