Damn, I thought i'd not posted this yet and I even looked to check, but must have missed it in my tiredness.
Thanks all the same king! :)

Nice choice to simply change the color of the sign behind the girl's pants.
Jem said 258 days ago:
Well last time I chose to crop it out - but I felt it made the composition uneven, so this time I decided to desaturate it and change the hue as to not distract from the main subject :)

hmmm.....I can't decide if I like the bumblebee or the macarena ringtone better.
Jem said 258 days ago:
Tough decision I guess flip :)

Sign of the times !? Nice technic and neat image and subject for a portrait but I don't get the message (if there should be one..) - why did you choose the black frame ??
stolenlife said 258 days ago:
This seems more a candid portrait than an in life shot

I found this difficult to rate and comment on. It's good, but it's not particularly interesting or engaging to me.
nattfodd said 257 days ago:
Very nice shot, great expression and good technique. Very relevant.
As a side note, please don't use frames when posting here (I think it's even against the guidelines).
Jem said 257 days ago:
@JimJim & Nattfodd - The frame was just added for contrast with the colours of the shot, I didn't realise it was against the rules so apologies :)
King said 257 days ago:
@nattfodd, Jem's image just has a nice black border around it, as opposed to a distinctive or decorative frame. I usually add a 1-pixel black "ruled line" to contain the image, especially if it helps separate the highlights in the image from the white background.
I also used an especially large black border around an especially low key image in order to keep the central part of the image from appearing too dark:

The WeeklyShot white background has a definite influence on perceived tonal values and is, IMHO, something that should be considered when submitting images.

You make a good point particularly with a very light image King - it does seem a somewhat silly rule to not allow a plain border in such circumstances. Not sure why its there to begin with for such situtions - I shall go read the guildlines to find out!

I like this one a lot. The subject is great, the impact is great. The composition could be better, it's a little too tight on the left and bottom. But,... nice job overall.

I've seen this before and recall liking it very much--hoping it would get featured, but I don't remember if it did.
Good work (again). High marks (again).
