It's ust not a very compelling image. I want to see more of what this is. More context and some tension might make it more interesting.

I like abstract images, and you've done a good job of capturing detail in the wood grain. However, the disjointed lines don't really add anything. Think about going back to the original, and cropping it differently until you find something that has a greater impact. The corner at the top right shouldn't be clipped, it would be stronger if it ricochet'd off the top edge of the image.
