Thanks for the comments. Actually this is a tulip stem shot through a curved glass vase, which at least in part accounts for the DOF.

This is definitely relevant to the theme, and is IMHO a very creative subject too...not something I would have initially thought of when thinking "orange"

Also, I really like the use of the tight, selective DOF. I can't see the other comments yet, but I won't be surprised to see something like "you should have used a smaller f-Stop to get more of the stem/drops in focus" or "I wish this was sharper" ;)

I do not wish it was sharper. I think it is great with the tight DOF, which gives an added dimension to the stem, and helps to eliminate some of the details in the background (which you can barely make out in the creamy bokeh) that would be distracting if this whole image were razor sharp.

I like it.
