This is so smoothe and silky. Very appealing.

As this image "unveiled" on my computer screen, I didn't think I would like it because it looked like just another sunset. But when it got tot he horizon, I was very pleased at how smooth it looked. And then it occurred to me, is this actually a sunset, or is it something else, like maybe whiskey with some side lighting? It's very abstract.

Thanks all, this shot is actually a long exposure of a beach at night (the orange is the streetlamps of Liverpool in the distance) with a motion blur added.

This is a wonderful shot, much like a Rothko painting actually. Funny that it does not show in the thumbnail section.

The colors are cool but I would have rather seen you post up something without any Photoshop work done to the photo. This is "WeeklyShot" not "WeeklyPhotoshop". This image could have been created in photoshop without even needing a photo.
SteveO said 733 days ago:
It could i admit that, but it still is a photo. I could have blurred it in-camera achieving the same result, would that have made it better? not in my opinion, photoshop is a tool for digital photographers to use, so i use it.

Just because you can. Doesn't mean you should. Just my personal opinion.
SteveO said 733 days ago:
Fair enough mate, your call, i just don't share that opinion. Its my photograph and i will use all the tools at my disposal to realise my idea.

Sounds like that old chestnut again - not really suitable to keep going on about it here though. This is a cracker of a photo - something that could just as easily have been achieved in camera. Nice one Steve.

I'm with you on the use of Photoshop SteveO, it's a tool to be used. There's nothing in the rules saying no Photoshop and I think if the use was banned half the images would be disqualified, all mine would be, even if it's just been minor adjustments or using the clone tool to clean up some digital dust.
This is a very fine image, well done.
