Awesome. Considering the circumstances, this shot is amazing. Cropping is phenomenal. Great job capturing the moment. I love seeing this kind of unexpected take on what is usually a pretty boring event, photographically speaking.

Q: Did you realize the one photog on the left did not have his camera up, or was this a happy accident?

There's a number of opposites here: there's a racial commentary, there's the fact that a good-looking, well-dressed rich man is walking past a barrier holding back a number of common-looking, slovenly-dressed poor people - and of course the unfortunate actor is not blessed with a photography hobby. Or he blogs anonymously, who knows.....

A little tightly cropped for my taste - I want to know what his hands and doing. I enjoy the panicked look of the one who still shoots film and just realized he has to put in a new roll every 24 shots.

Luck. Don't believe in the stuff. Not when it comes to photography. One can claim it, but luck had nothing to do with you being there, having the camera, realizing the moment, knowing how to expose correctly. All these things are intentional at some level - what level I guess depends on one's philosophical bent.

I guess what I was asking earlier in my sloppy shorthand was: Did you know at the moment you pressed the shutter, that you had captured this particular image, or did you discover it later during the editing process?

And this is not to dissect the magic of the moment to death, either way it is what it is. I'm just curious.
