I'd really like to hear your explanation of this one. I've tried and tried, but I'm missing the "opposite" here.

I'm sorry, but I don't get this at all. I see a dying flower against a very dark background... I'm not sure what is being contrasted here.
I do like the dying flower though. The color is nice and I like the bright, yet limited lighting. And I love the texture, detail, and saturated color in the petals.

Since two of you asked:
The opposites I felt that fit this photograph were the concept of life and death. This flower is caught between the polar opposites of living and dying; while wilting it is still exhibiting it's colors, stamens, and pistil intact for the sole purpose of reproducing.

Oh, that makes a LOT of sense! I feel like I should have gotten that. I really like your concept, I think it is extremely well executed, and I think it definitely works for the theme. Or at least, in retrospect I do. :( Sorry to be dense the first time around. Now I wish I could re-rate it for relevance.

Zorilla such a heavy word; "irrelevant." Please if you're going to leave a comment explain/express yourself. Explain yourself and maybe I could understand.
