Certainly raises a question about color opposites... but is red opposite of yellow? (I can't remember my color wheel) This is a beautiful picture thought, relevant or not!

Sublime colors and great texture throughout.

It's a great shot...love the contrast of the two leaves.

... that the leaves are pointing in opposite directions? (and not quite) ... I suppose, maybe in a pinch.

Miles said 832 days ago:

Nice idea but the leaves seem to be complementary rather than opposite, a bright green leaf would have been a better counterpoint to an autumn one.

I guess opposite colors right? Personally it would be more impactful for me if one was a green leave and one was either a fall one or a dead one on a background a little less plain but i guess the plain background helps the leaves really "pop" instead of vanishing..

Very nice vibrant colors and tones, for me I think it goes well with the wood. Reminds me of the mix of sugar maple & sweet gum leaves that was in my late father-in-law's yard every fall.

Goes back to relevancy, though. For me, from where I'm from, these aren't readily opposites and I start searching and thinking.

Wonderful picture, though- I enjoy it very much and it brings back memories.

Nicely done. Doesn't scream 'opposites', but in the context of the theme I think this photo works well.

Thanks all for the respectful and, I think, accurate comments and ratings. The reason I chose these leaves as opposites is not the color but rather the shapes. I think the yellow, ash leave represents one general shape, and the red maple an almost opposite (or at least a stark contrast). I certainly don't expect others to readily identify this, but thanks for your own interpretations.

I like contrast of colors in this. Not sure if they are really opposites, but they are definitely different in color and shape.

I do like the rich saturation, but I think maybe the whole image could be brighter.
