While I do see these to be opposites in a way, I think it could be done better possibly. Yes they are opposites but only in that they are reverse of each other and slighly different color tones. Very striking image, but it just didn't really do it for me for the theme.

Now this really does say "opposites" to me. It's pretty straightforward but if you were looking for an image to convey the concept of opposites or "opposing" for a magazine then this might be just the job.
