Looks like one whole, don't get how this is one half??? It is a very nice photo tho...
CaptureThis said 322 days ago:
Well yes it is one half. If you will look close you will see that the frame is cut in half both vertically and horizontally. It's called a different take on the theme. I like to think outside the box.

More double than half

This is a great shot, but almost too symetrical for my tastes. Would love to know why you chose to do B&W?
CaptureThis said 322 days ago:
Moses...Thanks. I shot it with this much symmetry because the optical illusion would have been, and was lost in any other composition. (I actually took several different frames of this scene.)
When I look at this I see so many things, like a knotted rope or a bottle brush (sort of), Ink blot, etc. When it was a color image the optical illusion was nowhere near as strong so I opted for black and white.
This was shot at Manny's Pond in Hoffman Park which was my Aunt's Farm where I spent many a day in my childhood. The tree in the middle is actually on an island.

I like that glass look, not sure if this is really one-half of anything though...

Very dramatic tones. I love the reflections.

flipthom...the frame is cut in half, and not just horizontally; half reflection and half real; It's also half vertically as well with the large tree smack in the middle making it resemble an ink blot (although the horizontal was my main aim for this shot.
There is no photoshop trickery and all I did was frame the shot like this when I took it and then converted it to black and white.
C'mon people...think outside the box...or this theme will get old really fast. :)

While this is a good reflection photo, I don't think it applies to this theme.

I have grown up a bit, I guess, my mind has expanded, not I get it.... Good point Laurie...
