I think I know what the story is - one of those European food festivals that have been commandeered by faux macho men and holidaying soccer thugs to display their dubious sexuality, but I don't see this having anything new to say.

Great! The tomato tossing festival. That must be quite a sight, and a hellavu lot of fun. This is Italy? I don't remember. Maybe there's more than one.

Just few information for all those want to know more about this pic.
It has been taken on last February in Ivrea, a small town in northern Italy, during a traditional Carnival Festival. This particular event is so called "The Battle of the Oranges" and the mud on the ground is due to the oranges used as bullets.

Great subject, well composed. Just too soft, most of the detail in the mess on the ground gets lost and that pulls down the impact.

orangganjil said 258 days ago:

That ground has certainly been trodden upon. Nice one.

I'd say it would be more a case of "on which we slip" ;)
