Cheers zorilla, I was going for a ghostly look but I guess I hit crappy instead :)

Beautiful. Nice horizontal composition, although I'm not sure this is the best compostion for this scene--I like wide horizontal shots. I don' get a clear impression of how you intend his to apply to the theme, but I get a hint.
What does this mean to you, relative to the theme?

...and the processing doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother zorilla, but I'm kinda liberal about that kind of thing.

something a bit lower, showing more of the ground would be a bit more relevant to this theme. nice shot, though.

@ King and Ana. The intent of this shot is that we tread (continuously) on the dead. A touch bleak I admit, but there you have it
King said 258 days ago:
@stolenlife...very poetic, and I mean that as a compliment.

and interesting processing on the photo, not entirely to my liking, but still interesting :) good job

A nice photo, but I think it struggles with relevance vs. other contributions for this theme.

I believe most of these guys were saying "Don't Tread on Me!", but hey, that's a different sort of comment. The image feels overexposed. Most of the really impressive photo's of this type of scene are taken from a lower angle and from a position more into the rows of markers. This feels more detached.

I think the attempt is to show "hallowed ground" as where we tread, but the tilt of the shot and the blown out whites ruin it for me.

Thakns for the comments folks. As stated above this shot is intended to convey that we tread on the dead - whether its the dust in the carpet, or the pastic soles of your shoes (also the air you breath, the food you eat, the water you drink - all part of something else at some point). As armistice day is tomorrow, I was also thinking about how we 'tread' in the freedom bestowed upon us by those who gave their lives in service to protect us. I appreciate its a little obtuse, but thats freedom of expression for you - long may it live.
Play nicely now..

If an image ever begged for simplicity, this is it but it's spoiled by overprocessing.
