Thanks to everyone on the feature. This shot is in Zion National Park in Utah. There is a hike to a slot canyon named the Subway and this shot was taken just before the entrance to the Subway. The river runs from the Subway down along a rocky area. This large crack is in the rocky area and nearly all of the river/creek runs through the crack, coming out behind where this shot was taken and onto an area that creates the Staircase waterfalls (pics of that on my webpage).

To take this shot, I placed my tripod over the crack and pointed the camera down to the ground. The rocks around the crack are wet and slippery (it's the southern Utah slickrock, and when wet, lives up to its name). I had shoes made for river hiking so I was easily able to maintain my footing.
