I have a sneaking suspicion that that is a model car, with model bushes in front. A composite photo. Not bad, though.

Greetings o' Kingly one. It's actually not a composite, it's just photoshop trickery. "Tilt shift", fake model photography, whatever you want to call it, went a bit wild in photoblog lad a while ago. This though was actually my attempt at recreating the look of an autochrome image, like these: http://www.alexemde.de/index.php/autochromes/

S'not perfect, and I'm not expecting it to rate that well (and I might revisit and have another go one day) but I figured it might fit the theme in some way.

Dennis, thanks.

So it *is* a model car? I'm sorry I don't quite get it, but I'm truly interested, and I like this effect.

Mind describing and explaining just a bit more?

I have this amazing ability to use lots of words and still manage not to communicate a point ;) Not a model, all life sized. The general process of faking that model look in photoshop is described pretty well here: http://recedinghairline.co.uk/tutorials/fakemodel/

It's essentially a lens blur effect, with part(s) of the blur masked out to give you a feel of very shallow focus. I haven't gone the whole hog with the look of studio lighting, specular highlights etc but looking exactly like a model isn't what I was after, just a part of the overall effect.

Glad you like it though :)

This looks like a model car village.

In the dark-room...
(Tricky !!)

The foreground shrubbery concealing the car spoils this a little for me, but it's nice to see something a little different. Love the grainy lof-fi feel and desaturated colours.
