Nice composition, technique, and and image quality. However, it doesn't work as "old" for me. That headstone is not very old either.

Lange said 483 days ago:

This image did not cause me to feel "old" instead it simply made me feel "sad". It is very beautiful in terms of colors, however.

ciao, nice and strong even if is not very much my style.

wiolka said 483 days ago:

but right, made me sad too

Judith,
I just saw Lange's comment on his as the theme switched over.

How heartbreakingly beautiful. How to you do it. On the next theme, "What's the story?" I do hope you will talk a lot about your approach to photography and about your personal vision. I'm a huge fan, as I think you know by now.

Thanks for the comments, folks. Flatline, I appreciate the fact that the headstone doesn't strike you as old, but in fact it dates from before the year 1900 according to the groundskeeper at the little country cemetery where I found this.

King, I feel I must apologize and thank you personally because I haven't adequately responded to your very kind and thoughtful comments over the last few months. I appreciate your effort to communicate very much. Unfortunately, my work and some personal issues have prevented me from fully engaging here over the past few months, but I'll try to do better from now on. Thanks again! :)

Judity...I'm sorry you haven't had time to contribute. I, for one, have missed you.

In the spirit of the current theme (What's the story?), would you mind talking a bit about this photo? Are you a graphic artist by profession? (I may have asked you that before). Are you an expert in Photoshop? What is it about the way you convey what you've seen?

Judith, I too am very drawn to your images, they always seems to convey this fragile beauty that could disappear in a heartbeat. (except perhaps for the doll, eek.)
