cool looking house in which one part looks older than the other. tough sky to deal with, though.

This doesn't really say old to me. Neglected and run down, sure, but old, not so much.

A simple old homestead. Were you documenting something here? I wonder why you included the iron fence stake and why you allowed that ugly branch to blend with the slope of the roofline. Otherwise, this photo has a homey appeal.

A nice take on the theme. I do not know how to explain it, but unfortunately for me, the image has a "flatness" about it. It does not look as textural as I would like for the subject matter.

Unfortunately that is the same exact issue I tend to deal with in my own photography. I have yet to figure out how to get my own subject matter to have that textural depth that I think is the major difference between a very good image and one that is a standout... a featured image.

I wish I had advice to give, but I am in the same boat as you I think at least for this image. Please do not get me wrong... I like the image and think it is attractive... I just think there is such a potential in it to give it more depth... just like I lament about so many of my own images.

Old house. The image lacks contrast. Compositionally I'm sure you could have been a little more creative, this looks more like a shot taken by a realtor for a n announcement brochure ("Fixer-Upper for Sale") Also, the sky looks totally blown-out.

This reminds me of my grandmother's house she got built in front of her original log cabin.

king you're right on the homestead part. I was simply taking the shot to have a picture of this house, it being the one my grandfather grew up in. And Lange I understand what you mean...the house is a lot older than the picture makes it look but i wanted to post anyway. Thanks for the comments everyone.
