I like the idea behind this one very much and had thought about it myself. But the only old camera I have left is a Brownie and I couldn't find it. I know it's here, just don't know where.

Nice take on the theme and I like the photo. Perhaps a tiny bit dark although that's being nitpicky. Personally I like darkish photos, but I know many don't.

good idea, nicely executed ... and the glimpse of the worn Pirsig book gives is an extra attraction. High marks.

Annie Proulx and Robert Pirsig? Let me guess, the bookshelf represents a tired old cliche.

I love this image. The colours are all rich and yummy and the lighting is great. But I think the thing I like the most is the books, I don't know if they were deliberately chosen but I get a kick out of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance next to an Annie Proulx novel. They give a little extra character to the image. High marks.

Nice image with some kind of nostalgia, though I (don't know why but) would have cropped the upper part of the image !

JIMJIM said 485 days ago:

- what did I say, thank you mtmartini !!! I didn't see "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", should have given 25 only for this !!! only a big sorry for this !!

Thanks all. For those interested, the camera was my father's, a mid 1950's, German made, Zeiss Ikon range finder camera called the Contessa. It has a 45mm f2.8 lens.
@Zorilla: you're call on what it represents to you; what it really is, is an old camera sitting in front of the "P's" in my alphabetized by author bookshelves.
@Capture This: yes, I find borderline "too dark" photos quite compelling. I like having to look hard to see the details...if, of course that photo grabs me enough to look more closely. Your Locomotive Breath certainly did!

Wonderful play on the theme. I wish there was a bit more light to the image though to show detail.

Nicely placed, and very well light.
High marks!
