The purpose of cropping/chopping the head off your subject is to find a new way to tell a familiar story.

I don't think this achieves that - it just looks like a clumsy and/or pointless crop

It might look like a crop to some, but it was very much focused on the hand and the arm..as you can see! I didn't crop this at all.
