25!
Wonderful NIGHT action and great composition. The shadow/lines from the front legs to the bottom - make this!

Unique take on the theme. Not my favorite photo, after all I'm a non-artist, traditional kind of guy, but I get where you're coming from and I do appreciate it. Good for you.

Well, thanks guys, I do like you comments. :O)

Nice concept .nice capture.

jan said 631 days ago:

nice idea but i'm not amazed by the execution, perhaps a little more at the top would help

lorissa said 631 days ago:

i really like the strong lines created by the shadows here.

I like this a lot, hard to explain... it's the kind of thing I see, but almost never have time or gear to shoot.

Except for Deb (reality), you were not generous in your ratings (3), but thanks for the comments, anyway.
2.6 for impact: my idea of a "film noir" atmosphere was not very successful. I won't argue about relevance (3.2)

I don't know yet if i'll post another photo on this theme. (almost) All my night pics are dark, blurry and noisy, and I think there's no room for such images on WS. Most people seem to appreciate clean and (sometimes) boring pictures of skylines- not yours, Deb :O)
A few weeks ago, I saw a picture (in NY magazine) taken by Nan Goldin early morning in Greenwich Village. Crooked and reaaaally blurry. I mean, it's art.
What I want to say is I'd like to see a space for less conventional images on WS. Fortunately, we Have Blizzard. I can't wait to see her interpretation of the theme (unless I missed it...)

I think you absolutely should argue about relevance. I rated your picture a 5 for that. Night is night and you shot this at night. End of story. There are no levels of night it either is or isn't night. You can grade down for any of the other categories, but I don't see any justification for grading down the relevance in this shot.

Jack, I totally agree with you. I said I don't want to argue, because I've raised the subject before, and I think there's a problem with the way some people rate relevance. for instance, I couldn't understand how one could rate below 5 in the "dog" theme, as long as you see a dog on the photo... Same thing for "self-portrait"... But it's strange, because some very good pictures who were not really relevant IMO, were featured. So... I don't know.

This ended up being my favorite Night shot.

By the way, I was one of the people that vehemently argued that not every shot taken at night ends up representing Night as a concept (to me.) Your shot got a 5 from me, by the way, because to my taste, and the particular way that I perceive the world, this says Night loudly and clearly.
