This was a handhold exposure, done on film. And then scanned. Hence the softness...

It is indeed Amsterdam.

Amsterdam? I wish cities in the US had such distinctive qualities about them, or maybe I don't have the right perspective. I like the framing, the focus seems a little soft, but I really like the quality of light and warmth.

I actually did live there for around eleven months. Riding my bike through the city at night was one of the best things ever... especially in winter.

Those reflections are wonderful and this is a well composed shot. It's a little too contrasty and overexposed for my eye.

I really like this scene, but there just seems to be a bit too much contrast between the bright lights and the dark areas.

Thanks every one for the comments. As I had noted before, this was hand-held, so the soft focus was probably a result of that. Also was it was taken on film and really underexposed, which gave really washed out colors. I had to bring out what tones and contrast I could in Photoshop from the scanned image. With a tripod and long exposure, this might have been much better technically.

Amsterdam! I spend a lot of time there right now, having just bought a business there. Nice to see it like this. This shot is very yellow, consider adjusting it so the color temp is less warm.
