Self portrait? Not sure if I should view the blown out branches as a nit as I can see it also being intentional. The one thing I'm left with when viewing the image is "why is the subject there?".

I like the image and to me it was obviously taken at night - here the focus is really on the subject in the tree - The effect is VERY cool and I think it would make a great CD cover - To me the image does not scream night - but I love it.

yes this was a self portrait for my 365 project. A shot a day of myself. I hung on to the tree for dear life and this is a 54 sec exposure.. At 20 sec in I flashed the strobe twice.*its in my left hand*

I think the neighbors think im odd after this night haha it was def a full moon out.. you could see me clenching a tree.

This one isn't quite reaching me... I think it's because there is so much shadow on the figure in the foreground that he doesn't seem to be the point of the photo... and yet he must be. Also, the shadows make it hard to see that he is in the tree.

Maybe a much tighter crop around the guy? I know it wouldn't be as much about "night" then, but I think that it would help to make the shadows around him more purposeful.

yea this was defiantly an experiment.. I think its my only night shot... sadness.

This is interesting. I think you've handled the exposure particularly well to get both the stars and the person to show up that well. Looks like you must have used a flashlight on him. I'd like to hear more about what you did to make this image.

Ah, I see the flash now. If you had someone to shine a flashlight or to flash that flash from below I think you would have gotten an even better result. It's still cool though.

Awesome. I love the effort involved here... expose for a good five minutes, climb into the tree, trigger the flash...

Oh, the things we do with free time compared to normal people. Would love to get a glass of wine with you some day.
