Pitch a tent. Nothing but net.

Interesting contrast, with the dark dingy pier in the foreground and the bright city lights beyond. I would have cloned out that strange white line in the sky above the pointy tower.

seems a little soft to me.

the white line i believe is an airplane's blinking wing light.

Great contrast between the sharp dark foreground and the hazy, brightly lit background.

Nice skyline! Wonderful and bright.

Nice foreground. I'm craving some contrast here though, and maybe an off center horizon.

I've loved so many cityscapes this week. This one has great potential, but to my eye, it needed help in two places.

1) I don't think the foreground adds anything. (My wife, standing over my shoulder, begs to differ.) I love the clean, crisp city lights images. (I think she likes the fact this is not that. Perhaps others will too.)

2) The city itself is overexposed. That may have happened because you were intent on including the foreground.

I would suggest moving up, shooting over that fence and metering for the city. (The wife thinks I'm a douche bag.) You may too. Perhaps I am.

Thanks for all the comments.

@kadenajack: I don't think that and I see what you're saying, but that's a whole different picture (I have some like that from other spots nearby) and in this location I was more interested in the pier and the fence than the city.

This was my first attempt at HDR, making it up as I went along, while trying not to make it too obvious, so the points about exposure and contrast are well taken.
