Ooo luverly! After new years I appreciate how fiddly fireworks shots can be to get right. There's lots to see in this scene if you look. I like for example that you can see the explosion of the rockets being launched from below the actual star burst.

Very nice indeed.

I love this shot. I would give it all 5's except I'm grading down for shots that aren't quite night, which appears to be the case here. For dusk, you get a 4. Really killer otherwise though. I'd like a large print. Where is this? I'm going to guess Hong Kong.

Fireworks festival in Vancouver? Beautiful, whether it is or isn't. I wonder why people are getting so hung up on whether it's the dead of night or not, when the description says "Photography is about capturing light on film - but what happens when the sun goes down? There's still some amazing photography to be seen after dark. So, let's see some night shots!"

To me this means anything after sundown. Plus in some places in the world there is no such thing as complete darkness sometimes.

uncommondepth, you got the location, congrats! And I agree about your comment about when the sun goes down. The sun was down alright!

Heck, in some places the sun doesn't come back up for a month.
