This almost looks like an infrared image. I'd love to see what you did here.

Guano heaven.

Looks like you hit all parts of the grayscale here. The scene feels quite compressed...I almost feel claustrophobic looking at it. I wonder if it's because of the two bright elements on either side? Did you consider cropping those out. I think it may have made the image stronger. That single spot of light at the end of the jetty would have greater impact to me.

Neat shot. I love the clouds and leading lines. I think I would have taken a different crop on it. The foreground is distracting in two ways, the dark rocks right up front mostly and for me what looks to be lots of bird poop on the rocks. But those white streaks on the rocks also give them a strange creepy quality which might be what you want.

That is a wow

Very nice... the moving water gives it a slightly soft feeling, which I imagine some people will like and others won't

I'd rather see the end of the rocks dead center in the photograph and I'm not so sure about the bird poo.

dextr said 552 days ago:

I find it rather boring for any photo to have something dead-center. you will never see any photo of mine as such.

Nice perspective and great smoothness from the long exposure. That sky is really lovely.

I think this might have more impact with higher contrast though. Could be worth trying.

This is a great take on the theme. And very well done too. I do agree with Beckn32 however. The end of the rocks, and the horizon, are almost dead center now. But the rocks are slightly on the right of center. There is a lot of symetry in this image and I think following Beckn32's suggestion of a centered composition, without eliminating the sailboat, would have taken an already very good image and made it into an even better one. Sometimes there are reasons to break the rules and do something that goes against what you would ordinarily think or do. This IMHO is one of those cases.

Congrats.

As King would say, judicious cropping would definitely have made this image into a real gallery favourite. As it is, it's a stonker, however there is an even stronger image lying within. Well done on your feature!
