this shot is broken up into three elements, which is cool, but it doesn't seem to support the theme. I love the patch of light on the water.

This is an incredible scene! Beautiful.

However, I don't think it quite emphasizes negative space, because I don't think there's much of a distinction between the positive space (your subject) and whatever would be backgrounded. Maybe I am just not thinking creatively enough?
