It's so burnt out you can't see the expression on the face anymore, which is a shame

I really like the contrast, and that his face is in the dark. I do wish that the white was a little less though, I think some more detain in the left of the shirt would have been nice.

I like this a lot - the light on the head and side of the face - it's enough. the face disappearing in the dark only makes it more interesting where the tip of the nose still completes the face. The fairly hard contrast gives it a lot of oomph.

I think this is well done. The high contrast works for me as well as the composition. I also like that you can't really see the man's face which adds an element of mystery to the photo.

I really like the negative space created in this image, you can almost make out his face but not quite so it adds a wonderful sense of mystery.
