Image quality isn't usually something I make a fuss over...in fact, as a rule, I give out a 4, unless it's a super perfect shot. This shot, upon instant viewing, gave me a feeling of zooming in very far on a shot to get a small view of a much larger photo. Not sure if this is what you did, but it gives off that impression of super pixelation.

Is this a scan? I think I see a few dust specks. That aside, I think the grain would be better if it went to straight b&w, as the tone of some of it is a little distracting. However. I really like your composition and the motion of the bird.
