If the adult would be clearly gesturing up against the white sky, this would fit well. As such, I find it a little dull

It seems like they are looking into the sky, I feel like it would be better if something were there. I do really like the contrast.

Very nice idea. I like the human element.

However, it seems a bit washed out. The contrast is great in the foreground, but in the background the trees and even the people's heads fade to white.

This is a wide crop. Not using negative space within the image.

This has been my sentiments about 90% of the images posted so far in this theme. Negative space in not about wide cropping, but rather about compositionally placing negative elements within the frame.

I love how you managed to get the bodies in silhouette but at the same time we can see the other features in the landscape. the silhouette emphasizes the tender body language and the white sky, to me, is symbolic of the possibilities that lie ahead for the child.
