I used a macro lens - it was a bit of a struggle.

While there is certainly negative space around this setup (and is therefore relevant), I don't really get what's interesting about this scene. I think that if there was more light, maybe the little scene would take on more of a life of it's own? Then it might look like a contained world surrounded by a black universe...

Appears to be in focus. Could use, IMHO, some judicious cropping. See my thread on Negative Space in the WS Google group.
