"She ran calling, Wildfire!" Sorry, couldn't resist the old 70's tune.
A little more contrast on the horse would make it pop out a little better, IMHO. Otherwise a peaceful, beautiful scene.
You might consider posting this to Photo Friday this week for the "Peaceful" theme.

mtmartini, not sure if this is you, but i recall you saying you might go out again and (figuratively) shoot another horse. if this is the follow up shot, i have to say i prefer the other one. i liked the fact that it seemed to be heading out of frame, as if trying vainly to get away from the blistery cold. if it's not you, then apologies to the artist!

George,
I sweet talk Tracy into leaving room in front of the horse and now you tell her you liked the other one better? What kind of friend are you?
George said 553 days ago:
King,
I'm one of those honest friends. You know, the one that tells it like it is.

By the way Tracy, I *do* like this image. The horse has a very expressive look...ears perked up...looking straight at you...kinda like, "Hey, Lady, my ankles are freezing!!!"

Right on, brother! Oh, are you old enough, George, to remember that figure of speech?--"right on, brother"? I could explain, if you wish.

Boys, boys, boys, do I have to step in between you two? ;-)

It was about 10 degrees out when I took this image but it went down to -16 that night. We have 6 horses, 4 of which spend their evenings in box-stalls and 2 outside. If given the chance to grow a proper winter coat the cold does not really bother them provided that they have plenty of forage and water. (we have a 150 gallon water tank with a heater in it)
OK now that the horse lesson is over....
I spend a great deal of time shooting the horses, but like any animal in a natural setting (not being handled in this case) getting the right shot takes patience, timing and luck. So I will continue to practice and hopefully get you two to go at it again, very entertaining!

Tracy, I look forward to seeing more horse pix! Oh and I checked out your number5design site. It was clear that you're talented just by looking at your pix, but your site lends a whole other dimension. Cool stuff!

Thanx George.

I must give your credit. I think this is *so* much better than the earlier entry (assuming you are Tracy Martin). This should go on your wall. High marks, no matter who you are.
