someone stole that tree!

I'm expecting Teletubbies to bounce into the frame any second now and I'm sorry to say that I think this image needs *something* to make it stand out, above and beyond the fine design in evidence here (although Jarrett Gorin may have something to say about the unlevel horizon).

Nevertheless, it's a good illustration of the theme, IMHO.

It's not a tree, it's a manhole cover :-)

The Teletubbies would be great, I agree :) Regarding the fine design - this is really just a very average Danish factory building, not anything special. Regarding the horizon: The sidewalk was up hill, so I was actually levelled with the sidewalk while shooting. I don't really care that much for level horizons, though :) I like the dynamics of the skewed one.

By design, I mean the shapes and composition of the image relative to the theme. Note that I am not the one who will be bothered by the slight skew, although I don't find it to be particularly "dynamic" either.

I'm glad that you appreciate my comment about the Teletubbies...it was a kind of compliment. :>)

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you were talking about the design of the building :-)

I know that you were not referring to your own opinion on skewed horizons :-) And I guess you're right - it's not dynamic in any real sense. I just have a tendency to like images when they have a less "polished" look - like when skewed horizons which are kept (instead of levelled out) tells something about an image shot while walking or "from the hip".

But then again, I'm fully aware that it's sort of a cliché to say that "sometimes the most interesting images are the technically imperfect ones" :-)

Argh, I did it again, sorry. Note to self: Don't press F5 to see if the number of ratings has increased immediately after commenting. It'll repost the form. Is it possible to delete one's own comments?

I don't know...I don't think so.

Guess not :-)

culberda said 555 days ago:

I think I wish it was more or less tilted. Or maybe the tilt is perfect because it made me think that.

christofferjon said 555 days ago:

Hehe, that's sort of a catch-22 :-)

Ana said 555 days ago:

well, I thought it was relevant because it was a tree trunk, and therefore, left negative space. ha ha.

buffy said 554 days ago:

interesting pattern, but the unlevel horizon is really messing with the outcome.

methan said 554 days ago:

the only thing i can not get: why is it tilted?

JIMJIM said 554 days ago:

Dis-apearition.
Nice composition (and sense of humour..
almost an abstract), well well done !

JIMJIM said 554 days ago:

not a tree ;-))
Fine design (both the bulding and the image:)
