This fits the them and is nice to look at. For me, and this is a suggestion moreso then a nit, would be that if the right side was cropped leaving just the bright lower left corner and the tree it would work even stronger with the negative space between the two. The space to the right competes and without my eyes bounce between the sunrise (?) and the tree waiting to welcome it.

I like what you have tried to do here, with what I find to be two elements in the scene - the tree (of course) and the bright light coming from the lower left corner.
However, I think the image is a little underwhelming.
While I don't necessarily think you have to abide by the rule of thirds all the time, the position of the tree being somewhat off center but not quite at the 1/3 point makes this feel unbalanced to me, as though the photograph was taken without looking (i.e., from the hip). For this reason, it doesn't look very thought out - even if it may have been.
I also find the tree itself to not be powerful enough to be the one lone image in this photograph, but that may only be an issue of scale. Getting in closer to the tree (if that were possible!) or a tighter crop may help give this image more impact.
But I do like the idea behind this photo, particularly the use of the light in the corner!

You've got plenty of negative space here. The bright spot in the bottom left distracts my eye from the main palm tree subject though. A little different crop eliminating that would help a lot.

I would have been tempted to get rid of that hot spot in the left corner.

Appears to be in focus. Could use, IMHO, some judicious cropping.

Meets the relevance to an extent, but I find the bright light (the sun?) coming in from the left to be a bit distracting. It kind of overwhelms the image, for me.
