I'm not sure how well it fits the theme, but I do like the way you have captured all the different textures. nice one.

The texture of the wood and the colours are great - makes me also wonder what's up that hole!

I can see why you submitted this-- the hole is negative space-- but to my mind it doesn't have as much impact if you can see the detail. Might have worked better if you upped the contrast so that we would not be able to see what's inside the hole.
