This is very cool, and I like the idea of removing the lines.

SeekingFocus said 560 days ago:

Was this exposed to where the wires were not visible, or were they edited out?

Miles said 560 days ago:

Thanks, I removed the wires in this shot. I wanted to 'free' the cars from their linear path ;)

George said 560 days ago:

Wow. Quite the interesting shot. I guess these are chairlifts, or the like? If you removed the support wires and poles then to me it loses something, but I do like the result!

dcreighton said 560 days ago:

This is almost surreal do to the fact that the supporting cables aren't visible. Definately gives a "floating through air" feeling to the gondolas due to the open space surrounding them. Expecting to see the cables is a negative though to me since the rest of the image is so real.

dcreighton said 560 days ago:

Blizzard's view of a cable snapping gives this image new intensity when looked at from that viewpoint. Oh my!

Love this shot, the colours are sublime!

This is very interesting. I'm assuming you've removed the other parts of a ferris wheel here. It's a really neat effect and I think you did a good job of it. I think I would like it better if there were some people in there too.

Miles said 560 days ago:

Thanks again.

I didn't think of the lack of wires being stressful, that's an interesting take on the subject. I thought it was liberating.

Kadenajack, this isn't a ferris wheel, it's a chair lift across an island off Toronto. I only had to remove the wires. I have another shot of the same subject, with wires, with people in it. But I wanted this to be about the cars, being free, and I think people would have made the cars look like they were still under some sort of control.

Ah, beautiful!! Now this is a creative and wonderful use of negative space. I particularly like that you have three elements in the scene, rather than just one. And I like how they are spaced out. Fantastic.

I do wish they were sharper, but I suspect that this was something like Holga shot (?) and therefore you might not have really been able to get this scene tack sharp.

uncommondepth said 559 days ago:

What are these? The colors are just great!

uncommondepth said 559 days ago:

Ahh - I get it. Brilliant! I already gave good marks, but I'd do it all over again if I could!!

beckn32 said 559 days ago:

The colors on this are beautiful but the floating chairs kind of freak me out.

Ana said 559 days ago:

speaking of colours, this would be great for the 'three colours' theme that seems to be in waiting!

King said 559 days ago:

Tricky. High marks for cheekiness.

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

All i can say is WOW!

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

luminouslens,
I'm not sure a Holga could take even this sharp an image... :)

Works for me.

Fives across the board.

Apart from working on the sky/ space and flying seats level I think it also has an extra colour thing happening with the theme too.

Nice one.
