fantastic image! classic-- but also funny. that's a good combo. negative space is used here to create a backdrop that really makes the two subjects stand out (and it reminds me of those stop motion photos from the 30s that used to be in science text books...)

Thanks all. A bit of detail. Made the splash by dropping a lemon vertically in a bowl of water with black background. Shot my face horizontally with black background. Combined 2 frames digitally. Tried to get the light source pointing from the same direction in both cases--not sure that worked.
