Too much detail and context to be an "abstract" IMHO. The bottom half of this shot, on its own, would probably have had more impact. Try cropping it to put the drain grate in the upper left with some bricks between it and the frame on top and on the left, and this might make a very interesting composition.

I just love when someone sees the picture in a scene I wouldn't - this one is just another great example of that. I would probably have never got the idea even if i'd walk that place every day. And how I'd regret it now, seeing this one!
Almost all fives, if the road section up wasn't there it would definitely be a perfect score for me.

smkpl: exactly this picture poped into my mind also when i took this one.
gorin: you made me wonder if your idea can work or not so i tried to crop this in a thousand ways, but couldn't find a single one looking good for me. the original burned into my eyes so deeply that every cropped part seemed to be a loss of an important element of the pic.
larzen: what i answered to smkpl applies to your point as well: "i would probably have never got he idea" either if i would have not seen the referred bresson image once, which was so striking i still remember it clearly.
