I keep expecting Italian women to come out on the balcony :o)

Thanks Lamazone. We always say that they all have their dryers going when we see the laundry hung out on balconies.

a strong impression of the place, effective b&w ... high marks

Very nice! Screams of old Europe with the hint of the narrow alley twisting out of sight on the edge of the frame.

Makes me think that generations have lived their lives there.Nice feel to it.

a slight composition issue (the corner of that roof) but otherwise this is amazing.

A nicely cluttered shot. The corner of the building missing does upset the shot a bit, maybe.

This is a rich and delightful b/w image. I put this on my wall, for sure. The light, the tones, the texture, the sharpness...all top notch. The building appears to be falling backwards, but that may enhance the sense of looking up and along the narrow street.

High marks.

Thanks everyone. My highest ratings so far on WS. I appreciate everyone's great comments. The neighborhoods of Italy are so rich in textures and character and it's pretty awesome living in the middle of all this. (though I do miss the good ol' U S of A a lot).
