Ist das Bild aus Berlin-Reinickendorf?

Flatline, it's in my neighborhood in the city of Aarhus, Denmark. This one is actually called "Bowling Nord", not "Nord Bowling", but I know that this is not obvious from the sign. Funny story with your family's bowling business - does the place still exist?

Flatline, no, I'm from Denmark - aber ich finde Berlin sehr schön als eine Urlaub-destionation. Ich war da in Monat Mai (und ja, ich habe Eisbär Knut gesehen.. :-)

Yes, it does, though we no longer own it. We sold it about 10 years ago. We owned the building for the last 40 years, and at some point the operator went bancrupt, and we had to operate the business for a while. I hated it, because for three or four years, I spent my birthdays with my kid-friends having to go bowling - which just smelled like beer and piss.

Not fun. My parents had some interesting evenings there, though...

Well, if you can say "Knut" you're pretty much able to get anything you want :-)

Thanks for the info. I can assure you that Bowling Nord in Aarhus smells like beer and piss as well, I guess it's the "worst" bowling place in Aarhus in terms of piss smell and drunk people. At least as far as my very limited knowledge on bowling places in Aarhus can tell.

Hahaha, yeah, "Knut" is the secret keyword :-) I have to admit, though, that he was pretty cute. Very cute, to be exact. Are you from Berlin?

Yup, and I just moved back here after living in Los Angeles for the last 12 years. I brought my wife and kids here, who are loving it. I still travel a lot for business though, and thus spend a lot of time on planes, mainly in NY and Amsterdam.
