Thanks Lemm & My. This is a scene from in front of a barber shop in my neighborhood. I was walking by with my camera and, indeed, this fellow was showing off his very green and new bike. I asked if I could snap a shot, and they were very happy to accommodate. The great thing about street photography is the people you meet. I joined in their conversation and had a great time.

Good story. I always thought red ones go faster? I guess the green ones go allright also :)

@pursang: I learned that he just lives a few doors down, and was literally just tooling around showing off for his pals...but I agree, gotta where your second skin.
@mysight: you nailed it. In fact, he was saying how this was a little treat he promised himself if he made it back in one piece.
@Montage: very friendly...I have volumes of photos just from these two or three blocks.
@Ana: I know what you mean, but I actually cropped this down a bit so you could get the full impact of the group of guys.
@kadenajack: glad you noticed the guy in the back. He's a sort of street character getting into the joy of the moment.
@Hummingbird: isn't it wonderful when people are comfortable enough to sort of lounge about the place like they own it? And they do, they do!

Glad this one got featured. For me, it conveys a sense of 'neighbourhood' and 'community' far better than most of the shots that have been submitted.
