Honestly I didnát think of an horizontal or square crop, this just seemed to be the natural orientation.
I used a canon eos 300D for this one - it's a 2-year-old photo.

I'm going to guess that Flatline shot this because of some of the subtle technical qualities that I think he strives to include in his photos. Just a guess.
This is a nice shot. I often wonder why people don't use the vertical (portrait) crop when it is called for in the image. In this case, though, I wonder why you didn't crop horizontally or square (I think square crops are lovely when done right), because we lose the violinist's so-important left hand and the graceful neck and head of the violin. There must have been a reason.
